4 Car Shows to Visit This Year in Arizona
Arizona is a popular state to visit for car lovers. The arid desert plains offer straight highways to drive on while the deep canyons and national forests offer some amazing sights that are worth the trip even if you drove down from halfway across the country. It’s no wonder then that the state supports several big auto shows that should be on your to-do list if you should happen to be in the area, visitor or local.
Cruisin’ Arizona supports a whole list of Arizona car shows that take place in all different towns and cities that run from June to November. You could head over to the Munds Park Annual Car Show, a June 16 event in the town of the same name that focuses on American vehicles but has other categories for street rods and trucks. Then there’s the Cars for Kids event on Oct. 6 in Willcox. It’s a fundraiser for the local youth soccer league, and it’s open to all makes and models.
21st Century Car Show
The 21st Century Car Show takes place on July 14 up in Prescott. Like the name suggests, the cars on display here must all be 2000 models or newer, and the focus is on the latest and sleekest luxury vehicles, sports cars, and supercars. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., although if you have a car you want to show off you should show up at 8:30 a.m. Aside from top model awards, this show also has awards for “bark” and “most uncomfortable.” Proceeds from the 21st Century Car Show go to benefit the Prescott United School District.
Corvettes, Caddies, and Coffee
This is an unusual car show in that it takes place on the third Saturday of every month, plus it runs through the early hours of 7 to 11 a.m. The idea is that if you head down to Bourbon Street Wraps in Chandler on these dates and times, you can see locals showing off their Corvettes and Cadillac cars and enjoy some breakfast food like donuts and bagels. It’s not the biggest car show in Arizona, but you can still see some great cars.
Sedona Car Show
The Sedona Car Show takes place every year in the town of the same name, deep in the red canyons of Coconino National Forest. This year it takes place on Sep. 15 at the Sedona Posse Grounds Park. The Sedona Car Show is celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Ford Model A this time, but they accept all makes and models for display and judging. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This list only scratches the surface of all the car shows and car events that take place in Arizona, and that’s counting the fact that Cruisin’ Arizona supports 14 annual car shows. Just about every town and city in the state features at least one car show, so if you’re in the state between June and December there’s a good chance that you’ll be able to visit a local car show.
