Arizona is home to several world-class golf courses. Mesa, just 20 miles east of Phoenix, has plenty of excellent golf courses to play a few rounds on. If you’re visiting Mesa and want to keep practicing your swing, head to these five golf courses for some great golfing.

Longbow Golf Club

Longbow Golf Club has been awarded titles such as a “Top 100 Resort Courses in the Country” and “One of The Top 20 Best Courses You Can Play in Arizona.” The fairways and greens are well-maintained featuring desert landscaping and boast the beautiful Red Mountains as a backdrop. Staff are attentive, free bottled water is available throughout the course, and a drinks cart does the rounds regularly. The golf club is near a small airport so expect to hear planes flying overhead.

Las Sendas Golf Club

Five miles further east from Longbow is Las Sendas Golf Club. An immaculate course makes this another world-class golf course in Arizona. The course is challenging at times with many elevated greens and is designed for the strategic player. Marshalls are on hand to ensure play moves through in a timely manner. Finish your round of golf with cocktails at The Patio restaurant where you’ll be treated to spectacular sunset views of the valley that extends all the way to the Phoenix skyline.

Superstition Springs Golf Course

Superstition Springs Golf Course is a championship golf course designed by Greg Nash and once hosted a PGA Tour qualifying event. The layout of the course is tough but fair, and most average golfers should be able to cope. You’ll be navigating plenty of bunkers, doglegs, and water hazards so plan your shot carefully if you don’t want to lose too many balls. The course is well managed with staff out on the course to assist in fixing divots.

Augusta Ranch Golf Course

If you’re looking to practice your short game, Augusta Ranch Golf Course is the best short 18-hole golf course in Arizona. It’s also ideal for golfers trying to squeeze in a quick round at the end of a busy workday. Yardage is 3,846 from the back tee, and the entire course can be played in around three hours. This is a par 61 course, with the longest hole measuring 379 yards. Amenities include a putting and chipping practice facility, perfect for beginners.

Mesa Country Club

If you live in Mesa and would like to join a private golf club, the Mesa Country Club is one of the premier private golf clubs in the area. If you’re visiting someone who is a member, the club allows members to bring a friend. This 18-hole par-72 course measures 6,900 yards and follows a traditional layout that makes the most of the areas topography. Among the tall pines and eucalyptus trees are rolling greens, elevated tees, and a few lakes and ponds that all make for a challenging game.

These are just some of the many golf courses in Mesa, Arizona. Other courses worth a mention are Dobson Ranch Golf Course and Sunland Village East Golf Course, a semi-private golf course situated in a retirement community that’s great for seniors.
